3D Signage in Singapore
3D signage is dimensional lettering and logos — box-up acrylic, aluminium or stainless — as opposed to a flat printed board. Used on shopfronts, reception walls and feature panels where the brand has to throw a shadow, not just ink.
Channel letters are a subset: hollow metal returns with a face and LED. This page covers solid and box-up 3D as well. If the brief is specifically front-lit or halo-lit hollow letters, go to channel letters.
Builds
- Solid acrylic letters (laser-cut, polished or painted edges), typically 10–20 mm for indoor, thicker for outdoor
- Box-up letters: acrylic face + sides, optional LED
- Aluminium box-up with painted or vinyl faces
- Stainless 3D logos, brushed or mirror, often with standoffs
- Layered / multi-level logos (base plate + raised mark)
- Foam or PVC 3D for short-run indoor displays — not for outdoor fascias
Illumination options on 3D work
Non-illuminated is still the majority of reception jobs. Front-lit uses a translucent acrylic face. Back-lit / halo uses an opaque face and light leaking from the rear onto the wall — needs a clean, preferably dark wall and even standoff (commonly 20–40 mm). Edge-lit acrylic is for indoor feature walls, not tropical rain.
Mounting
Stud mounts into RC. Standoffs on glass and stone. Hidden rail for a line of letters so spacing cannot drift during install. We will not silicone heavy stainless letters onto emulsion paint and call it done.

What letter height works on a reception wall?
For a 3-metre feature wall, 150–300 mm capital height is typical. We scale from the logo file and the camera-phone test: it has to read in a lobby photograph, not only at 300 mm.
Can 3D letters go outdoors?
Yes if the material and adhesive / mechanical fixings are outdoor-rated. Painted MDF 3D letters are indoor only.
Do you paint to a Pantone?
Yes. We spray or vinyl-wrap to the supplied brand colour and keep a physical swatch on the job bag.
Channel letters or solid 3D — which should I choose?
Choose channel letters when you need even face illumination at night. Choose solid 3D when the wall lighting is already strong or the landlord forbids internal LED.
