Shopfront Signage in Singapore

Shopfront signage is the fascia system, not a single plaque: backing panel, letters or lightbox, returns around the reveal, lighting, and the electrical isolation that the next tenant will inherit.

We measure the live fascia — beam to shutter, column to column, and the set-back the landlord wants from the lot line — then build letters or a box that actually fits.

How we measure a shopfront

Width of the clear branding zone, height to the underside of the beam, depth of any existing cassette, shutter box clash, and location of the power isolator. We also photograph adjacent tenants so letter height does not look randomly smaller than the shop next door unless the ID manual requires that.

Mall and landlord manuals usually fix letter height as a percentage of the fascia or a maximum millimetre height, plus a colour of backing (often black or bronze ACM). We draw to that manual, not to a Pinterest reference that will be rejected.

Common shopfront constructions

• ACM backing + 3D or channel letters (most retail / F&B)
• Full-width lightbox with translucent face
• Marquee / canopy box with LED and a replaceable face
• Halo-lit stainless letters on a dark fascia for clinics and offices
• Window-only branding where the landlord forbids a fascia box

Illumination on the frontage

Front-lit channel letters read from the road. Halo-lit letters read as a premium outline and need a dark, flat backing. A lightbox is more even but the face is a printed sheet you will replace when the brand refreshes. Mix them only when the ID manual allows — two lighting languages on one 5-metre fascia looks accidental.
