Mall signage is a compliance job with fabrication attached. Letter height, backing colour, illumination type, and even the font weight are often in the tenant ID manual. After-hours work is the default because the corridor cannot close.
Send the ID PDF and a photo of the lot front. We draw to the manual, submit through you or the ID, then install in the slot building control gives us.
What mall manuals usually lock
- Maximum letter height and logo width as a % of the fascia
- Mandatory backing (often black / bronze ACM)
- No RGB flash, sometimes no halo, sometimes letters only — no boxes
- Set-back from the lease line
- Approved install hours and insurance copies
After-hours reality
Expect a night slot, a permit, and a scissor lift booked to the mall’s approved vendor list if they require it. We price that in. A ‘cheap’ daytime install that the mall then stops is not cheaper.
Directories and lot numbers
Some jobs include the mall directory insert or a blade at the lot. Those have their own template from the centre. We print to that template rather than inventing a third layout.

Can you deal with mall management directly?
Yes once you introduce us. Drawings, COI and method statements are standard attachments.
What if the ID manual bans channel letters?
Then we spec what it allows — often a flat acrylic or metal face on their backing. We do not ‘try our luck’ with a lighting type they have already forbidden.
Do you remove the previous tenant’s sign?
Yes, including making good the cassette if you are reusing it, or replacing it if it is not reusable.
