Illuminate your presence to your current and potential customers.
INCREASED VISIBILITY DAY & NIGHT
Lightbox signage are a great way to state your presence. Especially after sunset, you do no have to rely on lighting from street lamps and nearby sources to remain highly visible. Just look around the surroundings at night, and the first things you’ll notice are signages that are well-illuminated. Not only does this assist potential customers who are specifically looking for you, but it also announces your presence to the general human traffic, which can only be a good thing!
TYPES OF LIGHTBOX SIGNAGE
The most common lightboxes seen around coffee shops and small businesses on the outskirts of town are rectangular in shape, with the aluminium frame and the front panel made from twin-wall polycarbonate sheet, and the design printed and die-cut on flat vinyl stickers. Lighting is typically via fluorescent tubes.
However, lightboxes can also be done is a variety of sizes, shapes, and forms, and can follow the shape, outline and design of your logo. If the lightbox is suspended from a ceiling or protruding off a column (cantilever or blade sign), it can also be lighted on both sides if so desired, although it usually costs more and will require more depth due to the increased thickness required.
MATERIALS AND SIZE
Lightbox signage are usually fabrication from a combination of materials as mentioned above. For a normal, flat, symmetrical-shaped lightbox the frame is typically made from aluminium, with the lighted panel made from twinwall polycarbonate or light acrylic finished with printed graphics. For custom shapes and sizes, the lightbox will mostly be made using acrylic and powered by LEDs.
Due to the fact that plastic sheets come in a limited range of sizes, we will have to join the plastic sheets should the lightbox exceed a certain size, causing slightly visible joint lines to appear at the joints. This will especially visible since the signage is lighted. Although there are ways to mask the joint lines, such as using PVC banner or a higher grade of vinyl stickers, this will invariably increase the cost. Hence, do take this into consideration when deciding on how large you want your lightbox signage to be.
Illumination can be provided by LEDs or florescent tubes, and the choice depends entirely on the nature and design of you lightbox you want to produce. Although LEDs can cost a little more initially, but they are more energy efficient, and hence the running and maintenance costs are a lot lesser than fluorescent tubes in the long term. You can also consider installing a timer to set the lighting to turn on and off at specific times of the day, hence lowering your electrical bills and increasing the longevity of the lighting sources.
